INVICTUS DAY
Invictus Day in your city is a one-day public event that combines sports and expert discussions with local authorities, businesses, activists and public organizations. This format helps regions test their readiness to support veteran sports and brings together key players to figure out what is already working in the region, what needs to be improved and how to do it together.
The first Invictus Days took place in August 2025 in Vinnytsia and in November 2025 in Ternopil.
The purpose of Invictus Day
Testing regional infrastructure
We assess how ready local sports venues and services are for regular training, events and veteran engagement. We look at accessibility, logistics, conditions, organizational capacity and real barriers.
Building a regional database
We collect and update data on veterans, coaches, initiatives, partners and opportunities in the region. This is the foundation for the next steps so that the work does not stop after one event.
Promoting veteran sports in the regions
We show different formats of sports, open up opportunities for engagement, introduce people and teams who are already making a difference. Veteran sports are about the power of community, dignity and recovery through action, not about “special conditions”.
Format and duration
Duration: 1 day
The program combines sports and discussions:
Sports activities
Participants are able to participate in various formats of physical activity, adapted to different levels of training and physical capabilities. This block is designed not only to popularize sport as a tool for recovery, but also to introduce local sports opportunities – infrastructure, initiatives and programs available in the community. Through practical experience, participants gain an understanding of how sport can be integrated into everyday life after service.
Discussion blocks and working meetings – focused on dialogue with the city and key partners.
Representatives of local authorities, businesses, the public sector, activists and veterans organizations are involved in the discussions. In this format, participants jointly discuss the needs of the veteran community, opportunities for intersectoral cooperation and practical steps for the development of sustainable projects at the local level.
This format allows us to combine action and conversation, practice and strategic planning, creating the basis for partnerships that have a long-term impact on the development of veteran initiatives and communities in general.
